Why

Effective therapies require frequent, individualized interventions beyond the hospital and clinic that reach patients in their daily lives. Improving clinical outcomes requires overcoming the "last-mile problem" regarding patient behavior.

Patients with chronic conditions not only need regular exercise and healthy eating, but they need to do this while dealing with all the other problems in their daily lives. So it is no surprise that they do not always adhere to their treatment programs.

What

The app uses artificial intelligence to analyze data collected from users via a smartphone. Sweetch then delivers messages, for example, at a time when you are more likely to respond to them and with an encouraging tone of voice.

For example, if you have a meeting on Monday between 12 and 3 but still want to find time to exercise, Sweetch will not advise you to exercise during your meeting.

Yossi Bahagon, Sweetch's founder, describes the company's approach to digital reminders as a mix of artificial and emotional intelligence.

It involves ongoing hyper-personal engagement that increases the likelihood that the patient will do what they need to do.

In doing so, the company is developing a clinically validated digital platform that motivates users to achieve health goals by offering hyper-personalized recommendations.

By analyzing the user's personality, behavior and context, Sweetch's patented algorithms identify individual therapy patterns and continuously adjust recommendations. This leads to significantly improved adherence during treatment programs, improved health outcomes and reduced healthcare costs.

Sweetch's technology is scalable and proven to lead to better outcomes in patients with diabetes, reducing demands on valuable physician time and reducing physician burnout.
